Wicked Halloween

It's a new challenge over at Pile It Up Challenge Blog today!!
This week our challenge is 'The Witching Hour/Halloween'.

We are sponsored by Digital Delights. They are offering our winner a $5 gift certificate.

Digital Delights also has a challenge blog and you can find it HERE

I used their image Frankie's Bride. I colored her up with Prismacolor pencils. I didn't quite know what to do with her hair (I've never colored curly hair before), so I just circled my pencil around to color the area and that gave me an okay effect. I'll need to work on my curly hair coloring skills for the future. I also have never colored skin green before. Will have to practice that as well. :)

I used Shapeabilities Labels 8 dies and Stmapin' Up's Basic Gray for my matting. The designer paper is 'Halloween Parade' from Doodlebug Designs. Such cute paper!!

The twine is from Terri's stash. The pumpkin charm is from my 'Halloween' charm set in my Zibbet shop and you can see it HERE.

On the inside, I used some scraps to decorate. The black panel will make it extra fun for my kids to write with my white gel pen. :)

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Magical Birthday

This is my last post as a guest designer over at the Fairy Tale Challenge Blog.

The challenge this fortnight is to use the recipe Wood, Dots, and Twine.

This is another first for me. The Shaker Card. Took a little more time and effort than I was expecting but I guess I need more practice. Everything takes longer when it's your first time, right? :)

I used this adorable 'Pure Magic' stamp set by Sugar Pea Designs stamped up in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Simon 120 lb card stock. I colored him up with a combo of Copic markers (skin, hair and everything yellow) and Prismacolor pencils (clothing and rabbit).

I used Stampin' Up's Basic Gray as my mat embossing with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. The veneer stars are from Studio Calico. The twine is Martha Stewart.  The star confetti was a RAK gift and the micro beads are Martha Stewart (form Terri).

Laying down so you can see the bits and pieces a little better.

On the inside, I used a sentiment from the set.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Come on over and join us. :)

This is my very first easel card. I found a super easy tutorial that makes me wonder why in the world I waited so long to try it!

I punched out my butterflies with a Martha Stewart hand punch. I used a rainbow of colors from my stash. This is a great way to get rid of those scraps. :) I stamped my WPlus9 Design Studio sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink in the very center of my panel, placing my butterflies around it. After adhering, I added Crystal Stickles to their bodies.

On the inside, I created this panel by starting with very thin (1/8 inch) strips of the same paper as my butterflies. Another great way to use up those scraps. :) I adhered them with glue in across my scrap paper and then trimmed once everything was dry. I then added the black mat and used this piece to create a stand for my easel card. I thought it needed "something", so I added the same Stickles to the corner like I would enamel dots.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Butterfly Kisses...

This is my last post as a guest designer over at Hanna and Friends Challenge Blog
The challenge this fortnight is Butterflies.
I hope you will come over and join us. :)

I used a Saturated Canary image called Butterfly Wishes (or is it Kisses? It's retired either way.) and I colored her up with my Prismacolor pencils and a few Copic markers. All the designer paper is from Echo Park's For the Record paper pad. All my mats and the card base are Stampin' Up's Basic Gray card stock. The dies are Labels 8 from Shapeabilities

The butterflies are punched from my left over scraps with a Martha Stewart punch. I adhered them with Glossy Accents and then added more to the blue butterfly and the buttons on her outfit. For the sentiment, I just typed it out on my computer. The ribbon is from my stash; I had just enough. :)

One the inside, I used more of the paper and the rest of the quote I started on the front. Added a white panel from the same dies for a note and called it done. :)

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Rainbow Luggage Tower (CIC279)

It's time for another challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations! Come on over and join us. :)

This week our challenge is sponsored by Fresh Brewed Designs.

Fresh Brewed Designs is offering our randomly drawn winner THREE digis!

Wow! Thank you so much, Fresh Brewed Designs

This week our challenge to you is Around Town!!

New York Skyline by Claire Gevaux

I am using Luggage Tower by Fresh Brewed Designs. I colored up my image using my Prismacolor pencils. I LOVE this rainbow look! Are you surprised? :)

The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp set called 'Life is a Journey'. I used Stampin' Up's White craft ink and put white embossing powder over to create a more vibrant white. I heat embossed it twice and on the second go, I had some powder stick. I also had a little trouble with the ink smearing from the baby wipe I used to wipe the pre-powder off the card. Silly me. Feel kind of dumb.

I dry embossed the panel (Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder) after I heat set and the heat emboss did crack a bit. This is the first time I have done that so if you have any advice, please let me know. So, a couple little problems. I guess if it was perfect no one would believe I made it, right? :)

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Munch Love!! (SACC75)

This week Sister Act is offering a special goodie bag. :)

I used Popcorn Ellie (unavailable) by the Paper Nest Dolls. I colored her up with my Prismacolor pencils and fussy cut her out.  I die cut the star out and stamped the popcorn from Stampin' Up's Treat Yourself stamp set (retired) with Versamark and then heat embossed with white powder. I them used the Yoyo Yellow ink and sponged around the star. I carefully wiped the ink off the popcorn to leave a subtle random pattern on the star. I then stamped a sentiment from the same set with Versamark under some twine from my stash. To finish, I added enamel dots in black.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Lovely Lavender Lilac

It's challenge time over at the Pile It On Challenge Blog
This week we are being sponsored by Aurora Wings

They are offering our winner a $10 gift certificate to their Etsy Store. Wow!

Thanks so much, Aurora Wings!

They also have a blog and their on challenges. You can find that HERE.

I used their Lilac 1 image which I just fell in love with. I think that this image can be used a hundred different ways and I can't wait to try more of those ways out.

I started with an Elegant Eggplant card base and Pumpkin Pie mat embossed with a Cuttlebug Damask folder. I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils and used my oval Nestabilities to die cut it out, along with a Wild Wasabi mat.

On the inside, I used a 1 inch and a 1 1/4 inch hole punches to create my little 'window'. I got this idea from the image they actually use on the site. It's simply stunning and I love the effect. I plan to try and create a whole card using that inspiration some time soon.

I haven't added a sentiment yet because this would really be used for just about anything. When I do add the sentiment, it will be stamped in Elegant Eggplant.

Thank you so much for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Go-pher It!!

It's another challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog!!

This week our sponsor is Core'dinations and they are offering our randomly chosen winner
a $15 gift certificate!

WOW! Thanks, Core'dinations!

Our Challenge #278 for you this week is to use the colors
GOLDENROD, KRAFT, and CHARTREUSE

Key Lime Pie Cupcakes from Annie's Eats
I used a sweet set from Sugar Pea Designs called 'Go-pher It'. I love sets for boys even though I can spin this set for a girl, it just comes so easy to make a man card with it. :) I stamped him out in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored him up with my Prismacolor pencils. I added Glossy Accents to the gems and his headlamp (Can't really tell in the photos, it was a cloudy day.). I found myself almost using my Diamond Stickles and decided that wasn't manly. Ha!

I distressed the edges with a tool before adhering my layers together. I sanded the Core'dinations panel to give a little more texture. Wish I had in cooperated the Chartreuse in a little bit more but sometimes a little goes a long way. :)

Thank you for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

A Texas-Sized Birthday

It's a new challenge over at the FairyTale Challenge Blog
This week our theme is 'Country Inspiration'. Use the colors of your country.

Doodle Pantry has been kind enough to sponsor our challenge.

Thank you, Doodle Pantry!!

I used Doodle Pantry's Texas-Sized Birthday . This set is actually a freebie with purchase. :) Doodle Pantry has always been very generous with their images, and they have something for everyone and everything. Being from Texas, I'm partial to this set.

I colored the image with my Prismacolor pencils. I then matted my image on Stampin' Up's Real Red and Brilliant Blue card stock. My white layer is embossed with Cuttlebug's Happy Birthday embossing folder. My card base is Sahara Sand.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

My Little Pony

It's challenge time again at Sister Act Challenge Blog
and, as always, our challenge is ANYTHING GOES, so come join us!

This week our sponsor is 2 Cute Ink

Thank you so much for your support, 2 Cute Ink

I used Nerdy Horses but they're more like cutie horses!! My oldest wears glasses so I love that this horse is wearing them too. I colored her up using Prismacolor pencils. I would have liked to try Copics but I just didn't have enough of the colors to achieve the look I was going for. I also thought about using Gamsol with my pencils and might try that the next time.

My mom passed some embossing paste to me from I don't know where. She wasn't using it so it came to sit at my house. Until today. :) I finally decided it was time to give it a shot. I dumped a bunch of glitter (Martha Stewart, I believe. It was passed down from Terri's things.) and scraped it on using a Simon Says Stamp stencil (not available, similar HERE) . It was my first time using that as well. Feels really good to be using things up.

On the inside, I used another Simon Says Stamp set, Color and Sunshine, for my sentiment. I thought it was fitting with my colorful hair do.

I realized after I took my photos that I forgot to add my Glossy Accents to her glasses and Diamond Stickles to her bows. So add that in your head. :)

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.
